CHAT 2007 in Sheffield

James Symonds gives this update on the forthcoming CHAT (Contemporary and Historical Archaeology in Theory) conference in Sheffield:

The conference will be held in the Showroom Cinema, in the heart of Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter, from 23rd-25th Nov 2007 and will include a keynote address by Professor Henry Glassie of the University of Indiana, who will be remembering his friendship and academic collaborations with the late James Deetz, in addition to two wine receptions for delegates, at Sheffield Town Hall, and in the Sheffield Millenium Gallery.

It would be great to see you at CHAT, along with as many of your taught and research students as can make it.

The venue has a capacity of 170, so it would be helpful if you could let me know in the next week or two roughly how many people may be attending from your institution (this will also help us to gauge the need for floor space for students).

With kind regards,
Dr James Symonds FSA FSA (Scot) MIFA
